With much anticipation and excitement, we are happy to announce that Brittany Richo is now a resident of Raleigh! Over the past three years, much prayer, lots of applications, and many interviews have taken place. "Sitting on the sideline looking in, this was a very challenging step for Britt. But she was a trooper and overcame so many obstacles, hurt, medical issues, and other issues that seemed to keep popping up over and over," said Nicholas. In the last three years, Brittany has overcome a torn retina, multiple eye surgeries, and other health complications. While dealing with that stress in itself, she was also balancing her doctorate degree, family, church, and ministry. But, through it all - she continued to rely on God who has certainly been working on this plan and knew the right time for her transition.
"I think the hardest thing for me was to see how hard Brittany was working to get here, and to receive the interviews and do so very well. Then, many of those jobs would either be reposted or cancelled because of funding or other issues. To watch someone be so optimistic and then instantly turn to complete sadness with the frustration on top of everything else is really, well honestly just hurts. But through this entire thing, I continued to remind myself and most importantly remind Brittany that God does not give up on us and when the time is right - HE WILL provide the right opportunity better than anything we could ever imagine." Nicholas stated.
Over the last 5 months, Brittany began working on the position she has obtained. She has and continues to work with some of the most incredible people who have went above and beyond to take care of her and ensure a smooth transition. "I knew a month or two ago, but couldn't say anything. That was hard. But, we began working on many things including finding an apartment and it worked out that I would actually move to better myself and we would move into the same complex. I can tell you, that was all God!" Nicholas recalls. Today, Brittany began her new position with the State of North Carolina's Community and Clinical Connections for Prevention and Health Branch as an Evaluator. We couldn't be more excited for her and ask that you join us in wishing her the best of luck in her new position.
In the midst of the excitement, we thankful to announce that our Executive Branch is now completely located in North Carolina. We are excited for what God has planned, and with this transition we will now be able to expand our ministry as God see's fit. We ask that you keep Brittany in prayer as she continues the transition, and we look forward to seeing what God has in store for her and for our organization.
